FTC-U Workshop 03 -11
Class length is approximately 2 hours and 15 minutes.
Intertwined Lettering
Begins at 17:30 of the video. Duration 30 minutes.
This topic is left over from the previous class and Trevor promised to show how to intertwine these letters in todays class. This is followed by a short review of the new tool layout after updating to the latest 3401 build of FTCU software.
Styles of Corners
Begins at 48:00 of the video. Duration 8 minutes.
New in 3401 is the corner style called open corners and in this segment Trevor reviews all of the choices we have for a style of stitching around a corner. If you choose auto then the software will choose the style of corner based on the degree of the angle between the lines.
Cutwork Heart
Begins at 56:00 of the video. Duration 10 minutes.
The new cutwork tool makes it super easy to create designs that have a removed area that is connected with the satin columns “bridges” sewing across the removed area. You need to hoop the material with wet n gone.
Cutwork Butterfly
Begins at 1:06:15 of the video. Duration 22 minutes.
Trevor creates the heart and butterfly designs and in making the stitch outs learns how to adjust the amount of overlap for the stitches. If the edge is too close some of the cut fabric may not be covered by the satin border.
Poinsettia – Shadow Work
Begins at 1:28:00 of the video. Duration 24 minutes.
Use the shadow work tool to add this special technique to any outline style design. You sew the fill colours on wet n gone and then place thin material over top and sew the outlines around the fills that will show through.
Auto Lace Tool
Begins at 1:52:20 of the video. Duration 25 minutes.
This freestanding lace design is created using the new mesh-steil tool for the borders and the mesh-fill tool for the filled areas.
